not even sure if it was required at first. I can't exactly remember when Doom '16 came out but I'm pretty sure I purchased it over Steam and I really can't remember having issues connecting the Bethesda Account for it. Unlike Rage 2 I pre-ordered Doom Eternal via Steam. anyone using the stadia version are already doomed, the tie in just makes it eternal.Ĭrossing my fingers. I mean-for the non-stadia versions of course. Originally posted by SeriousCCIE:I sure hope they don't tie Doom Eternal to some sort of doomed external account requirements. I thought they were giving us this DLC the same way they gave us the DOOM 2016 DLCs - free of charge.Īre you not by any chance mistaken since in the news announcement description there is no mentioning of buying the DLC with coins?. Man Bethesda are some sorry group of.ĭoes that mean that the DLC is not free to play? I have only the standard edition - do I necessarily need to purchase the DLC with Rage coins? Then why did those 18 gigs dl on my drive - what the ♥♥♥♥ are they for? So I am going to ask them Why would I have to Buy the DLC when you just said if I owned the Deluxe Edition I "already own the expansion". Thank you for your continued interest and support!" There is also an access point on Metro Station that will allow you to travel between Overgrown City and the mainland. Once you visit Metro Station and speak to Keenan Ford, you will be able to fast travel to the location just like any other trade town. Complete the “Captive” mission to gain full access to the Overgrown City region. You will receive a radio call when leaving any trade town, which marks the location of the ark where you will start the first mission for the expansion. Once you have purchased the DLC, you will need to complete "The Ranger" mission and visit any of the trade towns in the main game. Players who own the Deluxe edition of RAGE 2 will already own the expansion. In order to access The Rise of the Ghosts content, you will need to either download it from the in-game store for 1500 RAGE Coins ($15) or purchase the Digital Deluxe Upgrade for 2000 RAGE Coins ($20). Thank you for contacting the Bethesda Support Team! I attached my Receipt showing Proof of Purchase of Deluxe Edition. Originally posted by servo:They are complete idiots at Bethesda. Other games just have been permanently busted that relied on gamespy or the dev's own hosting for features that were taken away when the guys moved onto something else etc.ģrd party login and connection requirements sure take a beating after a few years. Except steam outlived them all, and to use DLCs you had on old computer, you have to get a copy of the files off some read only forum at EA and unpack them yourself into the install folders because the system that used to do it all is forever down, and you can't reliably buy them on the 3rd party system connected off of THAT for payment providing etc. That is what happened with dragon age origins, mass effect 2, and a few other games I have. Dealing with the issues that arise because of it (like the ones happening now) Keeping the license data secure for each user on their own servers basically until Steam no longer exists I just wanna shoot the new faction in the face, but nooo, legalese gets in the way! Maybe they can make a free DLC sequel where you are the last surviing lawyer who wakes up from an Ark and intends to instill Justice upon a world that just enforces their own EULAs upon you without mercy. I guess I am having cross-domain personal information violating fatigue. I wouldnt have bought the deluxe version if I realized it was content locked behind a different privacy policy and all that. Which requires a bethesda account anyway if you already have the main game on steam. Or by buying coins to spend in the in-store shop to get dlcs and cosmetic gear, I guess. But a buyer with proof of purchase of it through steam can't use it unless they prove they aren't a pirate by first creating and using an account on their (bethesda) system and tying it to steam. My concerns are I have the deluxe version - the DLC content is part of it.
